Juan Martinez – Founder & Master Mechanic
Juan Martinez is the founder of CyclePro and the heart behind the shop’s reputation for quality and precision. With over 45 years of experience in the bicycle industry, Juan has built a loyal following of cyclists who trust him for expert repairs, custom builds, and unmatched attention to detail.
As a former competitive cyclist, Juan raced at a high level as a junior and U23 rider, including competing in the Vuelta México in the 1980s. His deep understanding of cycling performance translates directly into the way he services and builds bikes today.
In 2024, Juan faced a serious, life-threatening health issue that required him to step away from the shop for several months. During that time, CyclePro was significantly impacted—but it also reinforced the strong community that surrounds the shop.
Today, Juan is back and focused on rebuilding CyclePro, continuing to serve the cycling community with the same dedication, craftsmanship, and passion that have defined his work for decades.
Known throughout Southern California for his expertise, many riders seek out CyclePro specifically for Juan’s work—often described as having a “magic touch.” Whether it’s a simple tune-up or a full custom build, Juan approaches every bike with the same level of care and precision.
Alexi Martinez – Business Development & Operations
Alexi Martinez brings both elite cycling experience and a business-driven mindset to CyclePro. As the son of founder Juan Martinez, Alexi grew up around the sport and the shop, developing a deep passion for cycling and the cycling community.
Alexi competed as a professional cyclist for five years, including three seasons at the UCI Continental level with Successful Living. He also raced with Adageo Energy and Team Wonderful Pistachios. Earlier in his career, he was selected to the USA U23 National Team based in Belgium, where he competed against top international talent in some of the most prestigious races in Europe, including the U23 Liège–Bastogne–Liège.
He has raced at the highest levels across the United States and Europe, giving him firsthand insight into performance, equipment, and what serious riders expect from their bikes.
Alexi holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Management from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he competed on a cycling scholarship and helped lead his team to a Collegiate National Championship.
Today, Alexi is focused on growing and evolving CyclePro—bringing a modern approach to business operations, customer experience, and community engagement, while building on the strong foundation established by his father.
